AP Motion Flow Coaching · The Resilient Back Foundations

A six-week small-group coaching program for accomplished working women 50+

Your back pain may return. Starting over doesn't have to.

You are used to being the woman other people count on. At work. At home. In your family.

But when your back pain returns, even a capable woman can suddenly find herself wondering:

Should I rest? Should I move?

Did I do something wrong? Am I making this worse

You may have already tried physical therapy, exercises, medication, rest, stretching, or simply being more careful. Some of it may have helped. But when the pain returns, you are left trying to figure out what to do all over again.

The Resilient Back Foundations is a six-week small-group coaching program where you will build a calm, repeatable approach to flare-ups, movement, recovery, and everyday life using the Integrated Resilience Method™.

So when your back changes, you have a next step. Not another dramatic restart.

You know this cycle

You have done so much right. And it still comes back.

You stretched.

You rested.

You did the exercises.

Maybe physical therapy helped. Maybe medication eased the pain. Maybe you changed your chair, watched your posture, bought the supportive shoes, or became careful about everything you lifted.

The pain improved.

You went back to work.

Back to your routine.

Back to being the woman everyone expects you to be.

Then your back started hurting again. And the questions came right back with it.

Should I call in sick?

Should I cancel my plans?

Should I stop exercising?

Did I damage something again?

What am I supposed to do this time?

The Back Pain Restart Cycle

Pain improves

Life resumes

Pain returns

Fear rises

Activity changes

Confidence slips

…start over ↻

Here is what I want you to understand:

You may not have failed the approaches you tried

Physical therapy may have helped your movement.

Exercise may have helped your strength.

Medication may have helped your symptoms.

Rest may have helped during difficult days.

But when those approaches remain separate, the next flare can still leave you without a clear way to respond.

You have been given pieces. What may be missing is a way to make the pieces work together.

Pain is a signal, not a sentence. Your nervous system can learn a new response.

You may not need another restart. You may need a response you have already practiced.

The program

Six weeks. A small circle of women. A plan built for real life.

The Resilient Back Foundations is for accomplished women 50+ whose back pain improves, returns, and keeps interfering with the life they are trying to live.

We meet live on Zoom once a week for 90 minutes. Between sessions, you practice small, realistic strategies that can fit into the life you already have.

Not another hour-long routine.

Not another program that becomes a second job.

And not a plan that only works during your easiest week.

During our six weeks together, you will learn how to:

  • Understand your recurring pain patterns with less fear and uncertainty

  • Respond more calmly when symptoms change

  • Find movement you can return to consistently

  • Support recovery through practical daily habits

  • Adjust during a flare without abandoning everything you have built

  • Create a plan you can continue using long after the program ends

You will leave with three things you can actually use.

Your Personal Flare-Response Plan

A written and practiced plan for what to do when symptoms change, so the first hour of a flare does not become an hour of fear, guessing, or shutting everything down.

Your Daily Movement Baseline

A level of movement you can realistically return to during demanding weeks, including the weeks when work is busy, sleep is poor, or your back is having a difficult day.

One Meaningful Activity, Reclaimed

Choose one activity your back has been limiting or making you hesitate about.

Walking with friends

Travel

Playing with grandchildren

Sitting through your workday with greater confidence

Going back to the gym

Or something else that matters to you

We will use that activity throughout the six weeks as one real-life marker of your growing confidence and capacity.

Because the goal is not to become good at a coaching program. The goal is to become more capable in your own life.

The path we walk together

From "What should I do?" to "I know my next step."

Week 1

Know What Your Pain Is Telling You

"Every flare makes me wonder whether I hurt myself again."

We begin by changing how you understand recurring pain and how you interpret what your body is telling you.

You will learn why persistent pain does not automatically mean new damage and begin noticing the beliefs that may be shaping how you respond.

Your shift this week

You begin separating the pain signal from the automatic conclusion that something has gone terribly wrong

Week 2

Catch the Pattern Before the Flare Runs the Day

"Why did this happen again?"

We look at what tends to surround your flares: workload, activity, sleep, stress, recovery, pacing, fear, and other patterns.

You will also practice simple ways to help settle an overprotective response.

Your shift this week

You begin recognizing patterns earlier and responding with more information and less alarm.

Week 3

Find the Movement You Can Keep Doing

"How much should I move without overdoing it?"

Instead of bouncing between doing too much and stopping altogether, you identify a level of movement your body can practice consistently.

Not your ideal amount. Your repeatable amount.

Your shift this week

You leave with a Daily Movement Baseline that fits your current capacity and your actual life.

Week 4

Make Recovery Fit Your Real Life

"I know recovery matters. But when am I supposed to fit it in?"

We look at the everyday conditions that influence how your body responds and recovers: sleep, food, hydration, stress, movement, pacing, and rest. Then we choose what matters most.

Not ten new things to do. A few useful things you can actually sustain.

Your shift this week

You build recovery into routines that already exist instead of waiting for life to become less busy.

Week 5

Build Your Flare-Response Plan

"What exactly will I do when the pain comes back?"

Now we put the pieces together. You build and practice your personal Flare-Response Plan before you need it.

Your shift this week

Instead of starting from zero during a flare, you have a practiced way to pause, assess, settle your response, adjust your activity, and support recovery.

Week 6

Keep the Progress Without Starting Over

"How do I keep this going once the program ends?"

Work gets busy.

Travel happens.

Family responsibilities change.

Sleep gets disrupted.

And yes, flares may happen.

Resilience is not doing everything perfectly. It is knowing how to return.

Your shift this week

You leave with your personal Resilient Back Roadmap, built around what you can continue using during ordinary weeks and difficult ones.

Bonus session · November 21

The Habits Check-In

Two weeks after our final weekly session, we meet again. Not to see whether you did everything perfectly.

We look at what actually held up once you were back inside your normal life.

What worked?

What slipped?

What needs adjusting?

What have you learned about yourself?

Because sustainable resilience is built in real life, not just during a six-week program.

The method underneath

Not another thing to try. A way to make the pieces work together.

Your back does not exist separately from your nervous system.

Or your sleep.

Or your workday.

Or your physical capacity.

Or the way you interpret pain.

Or the habits that determine what you keep doing when life gets complicated.

That is why the Integrated Resilience Method™ does not approach chronic low back pain as a one-part problem. And it does not give you six more things to squeeze into your schedule.

The six pillars work together as one whole-person system.

1

Resilient Identity

You begin shifting from "My body is failing me" toward a more adaptive understanding of what your body can learn, rebuild, and become capable of again.

2

Pain Signal Mastery

You learn what persistent pain may be telling you, what it does not automatically mean, and how fear can shape what you do next.

3

Nervous System Recalibration

You practice simple strategies that help reduce unnecessary guarding, tension, and high alert so you can respond from a steadier place

4

Capacity Restoration

You gradually rebuild movement, strength, mobility, endurance, and confidence without turning recovery into a push-through-pain challenge.

5

Anti-Inflammatory Foundation

You support the environment in which recovery happens through sleep, nutrition, hydration, stress regulation, and other practical lifestyle factors.

6

Sustainable Performance Habits

You turn what works into small, repeatable routines that can survive long meetings, demanding shifts, travel, family obligations, busy weeks, and future flares

This is where the difference becomes important.

Physical therapy may help rebuild your physical capacity.

Medication may help manage symptoms.

Breathing practices may help calm an overprotective response.

Nutrition may support recovery.

Movement may help restore confidence.

The Integrated Resilience Method™ gives you a framework for understanding how those pieces can work together instead of remaining disconnected recommendations.

And Sustainable Performance Habits helps make those gains usable in the life you actually live.

Knowing what helps is only the beginning. Resilience is being able to use what helps when real life happens.

When we build a resilient person, the nervous system becomes calmer, the body becomes stronger, and life becomes bigger again.

Your guide

I am not speaking about this pain. I am speaking from inside it.

I am Agnes Padernal, RN, PhD.

I am a registered nurse, health educator, researcher, and a woman who has lived with chronic low back pain for decades.

I know what it is to wake up afraid to put your feet on the floor.

I know what it is to quietly shrink your plans around your back.

I know what it is to wonder whether another flare means all your progress has disappeared.

And I know what it is to become more confident in your body again.

Over the years, I began to understand that what helped me most was not one isolated strategy. It was learning how pain understanding, the nervous system, movement, recovery, identity, and daily habits worked together.

I studied those connections deeply. I developed them into the Integrated Resilience Method™, a whole-person framework now published in the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine.

Inside The Resilient Back Foundations, I teach the method the same way I use it myself. Not as theory. As a way of responding to real life.

I still practice every pillar in my own body, on my own hard days. The method is not theory to me. It holds.

Questions women ask me

Asked honestly. Answered honestly.

I've already tried physical therapy and exercises. How is this different?

Physical therapy and exercise can be important parts of chronic low back pain management. This program does not replace them.

What we work on is the whole pattern around recurring pain: how you understand the signal, how your nervous system responds, how you adjust movement, how you support recovery, and how you build habits that help progress carry into everyday life.

Instead of giving you another isolated intervention, the Integrated Resilience Method™ helps you understand how the pieces work together.

I'm afraid movement will make things worse.

That fear matters. And it is one of the first things we work with.

You will not be asked to prove how much pain you can tolerate or push through symptoms. We begin with movement you can approach with greater confidence and build gradually from there.

The goal is not bravery. It is capacity.

My pain is unpredictable. Will this really help?

No program can promise that every flare will become predictable. What we can do is look for patterns that may influence your symptoms and practice a consistent response when they change.

The goal is not: "I will never flare again."

The goal is: "If my symptoms change, I know my next step."

I don't have time for another complicated program.

Neither do most of the women this program was created for.

You may already be managing a full workday, meetings, family responsibilities, appointments, errands, and people who depend on you. That is exactly why we build a small, repeatable baseline instead of an ideal routine.

We are not building a plan for your easiest week. We are building one that can still function during your real one.

Can you guarantee that my pain will go away?

No. And I encourage you to be cautious with anyone who promises that.

The Resilient Back Foundations is an educational coaching program, not a cure. It is designed to help you understand your experience more clearly, respond more calmly when symptoms change, establish a repeatable movement baseline, strengthen confidence in your body, and build practical self-management skills you can continue using.

What if I have a flare during the program?

Then we have something real to work with.

A flare during the six weeks is not automatically a setback. It becomes an opportunity to use the method while you have support, notice what is happening, adjust your plan, and learn from your own response.

A strategy you have practiced during a real flare becomes very different from a strategy you have only read about.

A last word

Your back pain does not get the final word on how big your life becomes.

You have spent years becoming the woman other people count on.

The one who solves problems.

Keeps going.

Shows up.

Carries responsibility.

Takes care of what needs to be done.

This program is about helping you bring some of that same confidence back to the relationship you have with your own body.

We are not asking your body to be perfect. We are helping you understand it better. Respond more calmly when symptoms change. Build capacity steadily. And create a plan you can keep using after our six weeks together are finished.

Because the goal is bigger than temporary relief.

It is being able to keep working.

Keep traveling.

Keep walking.

Keep spending time with the people you love.

Keep making plans.

Keep participating in your own life.

And keep being you.

You have spent years becoming the woman other people count on. Your back pain should not be the reason you stop counting on yourself.

The founding cohort is intentionally limited to 10 women. Not as a sales tactic. Because meaningful coaching, conversation, and personal attention require a genuinely small room.
